“I Am Ireland”

Saint Patrick’s Day is very special in our house.  We celebrate it each year as a family with a special Irish mean, Irish music and dancing, and walk together to find sticks to make our annual cross we hang in our home for the year.  It might sound corny to some, but we, however, look forward to this day all year.  It is also a day that Justin takes off of work and we set it aside to do those special things together.  The boys and I also get Justin a present since he’d rather receive gifts on this day than on his birthday or other commercialized holiday.

This year I really wanted to get Justin a right hand ring to replace a bend and dented Claddagh ring that he’d had originally.  I found two possible rings for this purpose – a gold Claddagh ring and a gold “I Am Of Ireland” ring.  After much debate, we finally decided I should pray about it and see if God directs me to a specific ring.  I prayed and felt that I was to get him the “I Am Of Ireland” ring.  I asked God to confirm what I felt and I heard in response, “get him the ring” and, “I am Ireland”.

Justin came home from work and I told him which ring I was directed to get him.  I hesitated, but then told him about the message I heard – “I Am Ireland”.  Justin said, “You won’t believe this, but I keep promises God has given me in a notebook, and one of them is, ‘I am a son of Ireland’.  That is amazing!”.

So, now this ring was not just a ring, but a confirmation of a promise God had given Justin.  The message:  God is Ireland and Justin is a son of Ireland!  Amazing!

I had no idea the entire time!  Just another reminder that there are no coincidences with God!
